A poorly absorbed sulphonamide derivative which is used in the treatment of gastrointestinal infections and is inactive until hydrolysed to sulphathiazole in the body; 4′-(thiazol-2-ylsulphamoyl)-succinanilic acid, C3H2NS·NH·SO2·C6H4·NH·CO·(CH2)2COOH.
