Etymology: < sub- prefix + parietal adj.
1. Botany. Designating a type of placentation in which ovules are attached to the inner wall of a unilocular compound ovary towards but not at the bottom; relating to or characteristic of such placentation. Cf. parietal adj. 1b. Now rare.
