1. Any of various fishes (often ones which are spiny or considered too bony to eat); (in later use) spec. Albula vulpes (family Albulidae), a fish with an elongated, slender body and a downturned snout, found worldwide in warm coastal waters and estuaries and very popular as a sport fish.
