Etymology: < star n.1 + -ify suffix. Compare earlier starrified adj., and also earlier stellify v., star v.
Obsolete. rare.
1. transitive. Usually in passive. To decorate with many small jewels, pieces of precious metal, etc.; to spangle. Cf. star v. 1b.
