sprugv.

Etymology: Origin unknown. Perhaps related to sprig adj., sprag adj., and sprack adj., although the nature of any relationship is unclear. Eng. Dial. Dict. also records an adjective sprug in use in Sussex in the sense ‘smart, spruce’, although evidence for its use is significantly later (end of the 19th cent).
Obsolete (English regional (Sussex) in later use).
transitive. To smarten (a person) up; to dress (a person) smartly or attractively. Also reflexive.
