sprinkv.

Brit. /sprɪŋk/, U.S. /sprɪŋk/
Forms: Middle English sprynk, Middle English 1600s 1800s sprinke, 1500s sprincke, 1500s 1700s– sprink, 1900s– sprunk (past tense and past participle).
Origin: Either (i) formed within English, by clipping or shortening. Or perhaps (ii) a variant or alteration of another lexical item. Etymons: sprinkle v.2; spring v.1
Etymology: Either shortened < sprinkle v.2, or perhaps a variant or alteration of spring v.1 (compare spring v.1 4 and see note). Perhaps compare North Frisian (Insular) spreenke to sprinkle, moisten.Compare sprinke (13th cent.), sprink (18th cent.), occasional variants of spring v.1 in other senses. Historically the verb is conjugated weak (compare e.g. quot. 1866); occasional recent examples of a strong past tense and past participle form sprunk are probably after sprung , past tense and past participle of spring v.1
Now rare (English regional (Lincolnshire) in later use).
transitive. To sprinkle; to splash.
