Etymology: < Italian bocconcini, plural of bocconcino (a1556), lit. ‘small mouthful’ < boccone mouthful, bite, morsel (see buckone n.) + -cino , extended form of -ino , diminutive suffix (see -ine suffix4).In the form bocconcino (with singular agreement) after the Italian singular form.
