Southern Paiute
1. (a) More fully Southern Paiute. A member of a North American Indian people inhabiting parts of Utah, north-western Arizona, and south-eastern Nevada. (b) More fully Northern Paiute. A member of a North American Indian people of south-eastern Oregon, western Nevada, and adjacent parts of California and Idaho.The Southern Paiute and Northern Paiute are not subdivisions of a single people. Their languages are distinct, and their territories are not contiguous.
