Etymology: Partly < South African Dutch bok antelope (Afrikaans bok ), specific use of Dutch bok male goat, (typically horned) male of similar animals (see buck n.1), and partly (in sense A. 2) shortened < springbok n. (compare sense A. 2 at that entry).In the plural form bokke after the Afrikaans plural.
