Etymology: probably < Middle Low German sleperich, slaperich, or Middle Dutch slaperich (Dutch slaperig), = Old High German slâfarag (Middle High German slâf-, slæfric, German schlafrig).Previous versions of the OED give the stress as: ˈsleepery.
