Origin: A borrowing from French. Etymon: French sidérose.
Etymology: < French sidérose ( F. S. Beudant Traité élémentaire de minéralogie (1832) II. 346) < ancient Greek σίδηρος iron (see sidero- comb. form1) + French -ose , apparently an arbitrary ending (compare orthose n.).
Mineralogy. Obsolete.
