Origin: Formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: sidereal adj., -ize suffix.
Etymology: < sidereal adj. + -ize suffix. Compare French sidérealisé (1866 in the passage translated in quot. 1888, or earlier).
Somewhat rare.
transitive. To elevate as if to the level of the stars or heavens; to raise to a superior level of brilliance or refinement. Also intransitive: to be elevated in this way.
