Origin: Probably a variant or alteration of another lexical item. Etymon: shag v.3
Etymology: Probably a variant of shag v.3 Compare slightly earlier sheg-up adj. With sense 2 compare to bugger up at bugger v. Phrasal verbs 1, to fuck up at fuck v. Phrasal verbs 1, etc. Perhaps compare also earlier shagged adj.2
Originally and chiefly Jamaican.
