3. Originally and chiefly North American. A children's game in which seven chosen participants must each attempt to tap another player in the wider group without being identified. Also called heads up seven up, thumbs up seven up, etc.The seven chosen participants move silently among the rest of the group, who keep their heads down with their eyes closed and (typically) one thumb raised; each of the seven taps one of the group on the head or thumb, after which the players selected in this way try to guess who touched them.
