Origin: From a proper name, combined with an English element; originally modelled on a French lexical item. Etymons: Servetus , -ist suffix.
Etymology: < the name of Michael Servetus (see Servetian adj.) + -ist suffix, originally after Middle French, French Servetiste (1565 in the work translated in quot. 1564). Compare slightly later Servetian n.
Church History. Somewhat rare.
A follower or advocate of Michael Servetus or his views; = Servetian n.
