Origin: Formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: septic adj.1, -o- connective.
Etymology: < sept- (in septic adj.1) + -o- connective.Found in a small number of formations from the early 19th cent., earliest in septometer n.1, and subsequently in formations exemplified below. Compare scientific Latin septo- (formations in which are found from the early 19th cent.). Combining with second elements ultimately of Greek and Latin origin.
