Etymology: < self- prefix + portrait n., probably after German Selbstbildnis (1812 or earlier as †Selbstbildniss), Selbstporträt (1818 or earlier as Selbstportrait).
A painting, photograph, piece of writing, etc., depicting the person who created or produced it.
