A sulphate and fluoride of sodium, Na₃FSO₄, usually also containing chlorine, first found as colourless rhombohedral crystals in the salt crust of Searles Lake, San Bernardino Co., California.

Schairer of the Geophysical Laboratory of the Carnegie Institution, who studied the quaternary system Na₂SO₄NaFNaClH₂O, in which this compound plays a prominent part.
