Origin: Of unknown origin.
Etymology: Origin unknown. Earlier currency is probably implied by roxy adj. Compare earlier roxle v. Compare also earlier rot v.
English regional (chiefly midlands). Now rare.
1. intransitive. To decay, soften, slacken.
