Etymology: < rump n.1 + -less suffix. Compare Swedish rumplös having no tail (Old Swedish rumpolös).
Having no rump; having no tail; esp. (of poultry) lacking both coccyx and tail.In quot. 1611: (of a horse or its saddle) lacking the strap under the rump (cf. crupper n. 1, 2a).
