Etymology: < French rondeur rounded form (1480 in Middle French with reference to the form of a woman's breast, 1800 in specific use with reference to the curves of the female body; in the latter sense usually in plural), specific uses of rondeur rondure n.Not fully naturalized in English. O.E.D. Suppl. (1982) records only the non-naturalized pronunciation (roṅdör) /rɔ̃dœr/.
In plural. Rounded forms or lines; spec. the curves of the female body.
