释义

rocklingn.1

Brit. /ˈrɒklɪŋ/, U.S. /ˈrɑklɪŋ/

Etymology: Probably < rock n.1 + -ling suffix1.From the mid 19th cent. often interpreted as < rock n.1 + ling n.1 (the fish of that name being related), and written with hyphen or as two words. Compare Swedish skärlånga (1855), and also rock ling n.2
