1875 E. S. Dana in J. D. Dana Syst. Mineral. (new ed.) App. ii. 49 Kenngott..has proposed to give the name rœpperite to the manganese dolomite, analysed by Rœpper... Almost simultaneously..Brush gave the name rœpperite to the new chrysolite of Rœpper, and there is no question but that this name should be received.
1961 Amer. Mineralogist 46 549 Roepperite is black... It has been described as a variety of tephroite containing notably high amounts of FeO and ZnO.
1984 Mineral. Mag. 48 139 The terms knebelite, tephroite, and roepperite have all been used for..the same mineral at Broken Hill.
