Origin: A borrowing from German. Etymon: German Rhodanese.
Etymology: < German Rhodanese (K. Lang 1933, in Biochem. Zeitschr. 169 246) < Rhodan rhodan n. + -ese (see -ase suffix).
Biochemistry.
A naturally occurring enzyme which catalyses the formation of thiocyanate and sulphite from thiosulphate and cyanide radicals. Also called thiosulphate sulphurtransferase.
