1973 Sci. Amer. Sept. 4/2 An Old Man and His Grandson, painted by Domenico Ghirlandaio late in the 15th century... The old man apparently suffers from rhinophyma, a condition in which the nose becomes knobby and enlarged as a result of rosacea.

2007 Rosacea Rev. (Nat. Rosacea Soc.) Winter 3 Rhinophyma is the most common form of subtype 3 (phymatous) rosacea.
