Etymology: Probably irregularly < post-classical Latin classical Latin revīvīscere (see reviviscent adj.) + -tion suffix, perhaps by analogy with e.g. conviction n., eviction n. Slightly earlier currency is probably implied by reviction n.1 Compare also earlier revivification n. and later revivication n.
Obsolete. rare.
