Origin: A borrowing from French. Probably also partly formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: French revertible ; revert v., -ible suffix.
Etymology: < Anglo-Norman revertible (a1377 or earlier in legal contexts) < post-classical Latin revertibilis (from 13th cent. in British sources in legal context) < classical Latin revertere revert v. -ibilis -ible suffix. In later use probably also partly < revert v. + -ible suffix.
Admitting of or subject to reversion; capable of reverting (in various senses).
