Chemistry.

1. resorcylic acid n. each of three isomeric carboxylic acids derived from resorcinol, used as intermediates in the manufacture of dyestuffs and drugs.Formula: C₆H₃(OH)₂COOH. The individual isomers are: α-resorcylic acid (3, 5-dihydroxybenzoic acid), β-resorcylic acid (2, 4-dihydroxybenzoic acid), and γ-resorcylic acid (2, 6-dihydroxybenzoic acid).
