Etymology: < requisition n. + -ary suffix¹, apparently originally after French réquisitionnaire (noun) soldier who has been enlisted by requisition (1793, originally and chiefly with reference to the mass recruitment (levée en masse) of soldiers in that year for the war against Prussia and Austria; now historical). With the use as adjective compare French réquisitionnaire (of people) drafted into military service by requisition (1848 or earlier; rare, now historical).

Of, relating to, or subject to requisition, esp. for military purposes; of the nature of a requisition.
