Etymology: < reorganization n. + -ist suffix. Compare earlier organizationist n.In recent use with reference to China after Chinese gǎizǔpài, lit. ‘reorganization group’ ( < gǎizǔ to reorganize, reshuffle ( < gǎi to change + to organize) + pài group, faction, clique, school of thought), itself after the group's fuller name Zhōngguó Guómíndǎng gǎizǔ tóngzhìhùi, lit. ‘society of comrades for the reorganization of the Chinese Kuomintang’ (1928).
A person who favours reorganization, esp. of a political nature; spec. a member of a Chinese political faction (1928–31) which advocated the reorganization of the Kuomintang.
