Origin: A borrowing from French. Etymon: French renversement.
Etymology: < French renversement action of reversing or inverting, result of this (1478 in Middle French), manoeuvre in which the direction of an aircraft is rapidly reversed (1918) < renverser renverse v. + -ment -ment suffix. Compare earlier reversement n.
