Origin: Formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: re- prefix, heated adj.; reheat v., -ed suffix1.
Etymology: Partly < re- prefix + heated adj. (originally after Italian riscaldato (1612 in the passage translated in quot. 1626)), and partly (in later use) < reheat v. + -ed suffix1. In sense 2 probably also partly < reheat n. + -ed suffix2. Compare later reheat v.
