Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymon: Latin rejuvenescere.

Etymology: < post-classical Latin rejuvenescere to become young again (from 13th cent. in British sources; also in continental sources) < classical Latin re- re- prefix + iuvenis young (see juvenile adj.) + -ēscere -esce suffix. In sense 2 after French rajeunir (see rejuvenate v.). Compare earlier rejuvenescence n., rejuvenescency n., and rejuvenescent adj. Compare also earlier rejuvenize v., rejuvenate v., and senesce v.
