Origin: Formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: re- prefix, adjourn v.
Etymology: < re- prefix + -journ (in adjourn v.). Compare post-classical Latin radjournare to summon again (to law) (1357 in a French source), Middle French radjourner to adjourn again (late 13th cent. in Old French as rajourner ), Italian raggiornare to adjourn (1598 in Florio). Compare later readjourn v.
Obsolete.
