Origin: Of multiple origins. Partly a borrowing from Latin. Partly formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: Latin reiector ; reject v., -or suffix.
Etymology: Partly < post-classical Latin reiector person who rejects (a1540; < classical Latin rēiect- , past participial stem of rēicere reject v. + -or -or suffix), and partly directly < reject v. + -or suffix. Compare earlier rejecter n.
