Etymology: < post-classical Latin refocillat-, past participial stem (see -ate suffix3) of refocillare to revive, refresh, reanimate, comfort (Vulgate) < classical Latin re- re- prefix + focillāre focillate v. Compare Anglo-Norman and Middle French refociller (14th cent.). Compare earlier refocillation n.
