Origin: Formed within English, by derivation. Etymons: re- prefix, descend v.
Etymology: < re- prefix + descend v. Compare Middle French, French redescendre (c1227 in Old French used intransitively; 1801 used transitively).
To descend again.
a. intransitive. To go or come down again (in various senses). Cf. descend v. II.
