Etymology: < rector n. + -al suffix1, probably after either post-classical Latin rectoralis (1600 or earlier) or French rectoral (1588 in Middle French). Compare also Spanish rectoral (1585). Compare earlier rectorial adj.
Of, belonging to, or relating to a rector (in various senses); befitting a rector. Cf. rectorial adj.
