Etymology: < Anglo-Norman redubbour, redobeour (late 13th cent. or earlier) < redubber redub v.1 + -our , -eour -our suffix; compare -er suffix2. Compare post-classical Latin redubator, redobator (1284 in a British source).
Obsolete.
A person who acquires and then alters stolen fabric or clothing, so that it cannot be recognized.
