Compare later recitativo accompagnato n.The following apparently shows a slightly earlier misapprehension of the Italian term:1828 T. Busby Mus. Man. 144 Recitativo istromento, (Ital.) accompanied recitative. In plural recitativi stromentati after the Italian plural form. Not fully naturalized in English.
