释义

rassn.int.

Brit. /rɑːs/, U.S. /rɑs/, Caribbean English /raːs/

Etymology: Variant of arse n., by metathesis and perhaps partly also by metanalysis (of your arse). In use as an interjection and term of abuse, and in sense 2, perhaps influenced by (or perhaps even independently borrowed from) Dutch razen to rage (see rase v.3). See discussion in R. Allsopp Dict. Caribbean Eng. Usage (1996) 466. In the form rassa the final -a is perhaps for purposes of rhyme: see quot. 1790.
coarse slang (originally and chiefly Jamaican).
1. The buttocks; the arse; (in extended use) rubbish, nonsense. Also (occasionally attributive) as a general term of abuse. Also as int.
