Origin: A borrowing from French. Etymon: French ramé.
Etymology: < Old French ramé having antlers (late 12th cent.) < ram antler (c1160 as raim ; specific use of ram branch: see rame n.1) + (see -ate suffix2). Compare Anglo-Norman and Old French, Middle French, French ramé having branches, adorned with branches (c1174).
