Origin: A borrowing from Latin, combined with an English element; originally modelled on a French lexical item. Etymons: Latin rāmus , -parous comb. form.
Etymology: < classical Latin rāmus branch (see ramus n.) + -parous comb. form, originally after French ramipare (1764 in the passage translated in quot. 1766).

Reproducing by branching; producing or having (many) branches. Also figurative.
