Origin: Either (i) a borrowing from French, combined with an English element. Or (ii) a borrowing from French. Etymons: French rabi , -ish suffix1; French rabice.
Etymology: Either < Middle French rabi rabid, raging (see rabid adj.) + -ish suffix1, or < Middle French rabice, rabiche feminine of rabi , perhaps with remodelling of the ending after -ish suffix1 (but compare the phonological change seen in -ish suffix2).
Obsolete.
Unruly; inconsiderate, rash or impetuous.
