Chem. XV. 346 Kinovatannic acid is resolved..into kinova-red and a substance which behaves..like grape-sugar. 1869 H. Watts Dict. Chem. V. 31 Quinovatannic acid, a tannic acid obtained..from the bark of Chinchona nova or C. surinamensis. It is very much like quinnotannic acid, but differs from the latter in having a some what bitter taste and in not giving a precipitate with gelatin or tartar-emetic. 1918 A. R. Cushny Text-bk. Pharmacol. (ed. 7) ii. xxx. 457 The acids generally acknowledged to be present in cinchona are quinic, quinovic, quinotannic, quinovatannic, caffeotannic and oxalic.
