Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymon: Latin quid nunc.
Etymology: < classical Latin quid nunc what now < quid what (see quid n.1) + nunc now (see now adv.). Compare classical Latin numquid , interrogative particle (see numquid n.).
A person who constantly asks: ‘What now?’; an inquisitive or nosy person; a gossip.
