Origin: A borrowing from Latin. Etymon: Latin quadridentatus.
Etymology: < post-classical Latin quadridentatus (1752 or earlier) < classical Latin quadri- quadri- comb. form + dentātus dentate adj. Compare classical Latin quadridēns having four teeth or prongs.
