Origin: From a proper name. Etymon: proper name Queen Mary.
Etymology: < Queen Mary (1867–1953), the name of the wife of King George V, King of Great Britain and Ireland, who was Queen Consort from 1911–36.In sense 2 with allusion to the Cunard passenger liner Queen Mary (named after the consort of George V; compare queen n. 14), the trailer probably being so called on account of its size.
