One of the three forms of vitamin B6 (see pyridoxine n.), which is a coenzyme in protein metabolism.Pyridoxamine is derived from pyridoxine by replacement of the 4-hydroxymethyl group by an aminomethyl group, and usually occurs in mammalian tissues as the phosphate ester.
