Any of a group of compounds which are keto derivatives of pyrazolines; a substituted derivative of such a compound, esp. one used as an azo dye or as an anti-inflammatory or antipyretic drug.The chief pyrazolone (more fully 5-pyrazolone), NH—N=CH—CH₂CO, is a weakly acidic, crystalline solid.
